Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day, lovelies! So I know that Valentine’s Day is kind of commercial and maybe even a bit cliche, but hey - I still kind of love it. Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or not, it honestly doesn’t matter. This ballet inspired Valentine’s shoot is seriously gorgeous. From the florals, the colors, to the graceful ballerina, I am so excited to share these photos by the talented Michelle Boyd. There’s just something about ballerinas that feels so inspiring for a wedding junkie too…

From Katy of Without Wax, Katy…When I hear Valentine’s Day, I think feminine. Soft, graceful and elegant. And to me, the essence of feminine is a ballerina. How they seemingly float on air as light as one could be. Our model, Cassia Wilson, is a trained ballerina and currently an apprentice with the Austin Ballet. She has an amazing ability to glide effortlessly, making each movement meaningful. Michelle Boyd’s talent is incredible. She was able to freeze frame the fluidity of each delicate motion without fail. Part of the day was spent shooting in classic black and white film. Doesn’t it just make your heart skip a beat? Makenzi Laine created a modern take on a classic bun, and polished Cassia’s natural beauty with soft makeup and the most stunning deep plum lip color. The color palette, while not your typical Valentine’s combination, is the perfect balance of understated sophistication and wildly romantic. Rich tones of berry blues and plums, paired with fuchsia filled the table, as the centerpiece danced and took center stage.

Grecian Wedding Inspiration

P h o t o s b y I v y & S t o n e

Hi everyone. I have such a neat inspiration shoot to show you today. One thing I love about styled shoots is the creativity behind them. Styled shoots allow you to get inspired to think outside the box when it comes to wedding style. This inspiration shot by Ivy & Stone Photography is definitely outside the box: it’s Grecian, featuring lovely gold details, a Maggie Sottero gown, and there’s even a donkey involved…

From the photographer… We worked with Maggie Sottero and her beautiful grecian, blush wedding gown and it turned out so beautiful! The beautiful cake was gold and white with delicate gold leaves adorning the side. The florals were a perfect match for the feel of the shoot and had olive branches incorporated between stems of lavender. And to top it off our donkey, Rosie, was perfectly behaved the whole time!

Hello friends. I hope you’re all having a fabulous week. I’m very excited to share with you all a wonderful styled shoot from photographer Lauren Kinsey. I’m a big fan of Lauren’s work, and I think you’ll know why when you see this set of photos. This shoot, styled by the folks at Myrtie Blue, is totally captivating and has such unique inspiration behind it. Take a look and enjoy!

Intimate Amalfi Coast Wedding Inspiration

I’m so excited to share these gorgeous images with you all today. This shoot styled by Joy Proctor at the Moda e Arte Workshop takes place on the Amalfi Coast in Italy in an old hotel dating back to the 11th century. With a focus on architecture, Italian romance, and gorgeous landscapes, these photos by Heather Payne are overwhelmingly beautiful.

From the designer…To highlight the delicate juxtaposition of natural beauty and the true artisan talent reflected in the architecture and art, I chose a color palate of light blue, cream, gold and ochre. I chose the ruins of the old Roman baths as the backdrop for our dinner table, which I set with antique monogrammed silverware, detailed stoneware china and delicate etched glass champagne coupes. Ornate gold candelabras and candle sticks lit the table just as the owners of the palace may have done centuries before. I placed taper candles into the frescoes surrounding the dinner table, and chose a beautiful gold cake stand for the cake — which was also placed into a fresco.
