Colorado Mountain Wedding Inspiration

P h o t o s b y A l p & I s l e

Having grown up in Vermont, I’m a true mountain girl at heart. My inner core lit up when I viewed the images from Emily of Alp & Isle of her Colorado mountain wedding inspiration. Colorado is also a place near and dear to my heart as I’ve visited there several times and have always been so captivated by the immense and gorgeous Rockies. I really love the combination of beautifully styled bridals amid a breathtaking landscape, and these photos are just that. The florals are also a noteworthy detail. They just ooze with uniqueness, texture, rich, deep color.

From the photographer…We kept it simple yet breathtaking. We have done such heavy detail laden shoots in the past and we wanted something simple that would be a breath of fresh inspiration for a mountain bride. Something not overwhelming in detail but simply breathtaking and inspiring for brides to plan fine art weddings in Colorado. I truly believe in slowing down and curating in my fine art approach. Jennie designed the bouquet to be able to straddle the late summer and fall seasons, with deep colors and textures. We chose a gorgeously layered and beaded silk powder blue J. Mendel gown from Shop Gossamer. Our model was Laura Kerber. We shot this in Estes Park, Colorado just outside Rocky Mountain National Park. My husband’s hometown! This location is actually a dried lake bed (they drained the lake for early prevention of flooding from summer snowmelt). All the locals thought I was crazy to shoot here, but I had my heart set on this as soon as I saw it and I think you’ll know why when you see it.

I love the vibrancy of the gorgeous red florals set amid the lush greenery. The portrait where the model is engulfed in the mountainside is simply breathtaking. Thanks so much to Emily for sharing this styled shoot and I’m happy to welcome her to the Belles & Bubbles community!
