Southern-Themed Backyard Wedding in Michigan

Hello readers! I have a wonderful summer wedding to share with you all today. It’s a backyard wedding too. I’m a little partial to backyard weddings since I had one myself, but I really do think they’re wonderful. There’s something super special about knowing that you’ve had your wedding in a place that’s so close to home (literally). Check out these photos for yourself and tell me you don’t think backyard weddings are pretty remarkable, especially when captured by the talent of JR Magat Photography.

Kelsey and Chris got married in Fenton, Michigan on July 12 of this year. They live in North Carolina and had spent several months trying to find a venue that was right for them. They ultimately decided to wed at the home where Kelsey grew up.

The ceremony was held under a large wild cherry tree with views overlooking a neighboring field of horses.

Kelsey and Chris got engaged in Savannah, Georgia, so they decided to go for a southern theme for their special day. From the peach color palette to the delectable southern food (mmm…woopie pies!), this was definitely a sweet southern soiree. The details were all put together beautifully by the Matron of Honor, Kelsey’s sister.

If you’re thinking about planning your own backyard wedding or event, this wedding should definitely give you some inspiration. Thanks so much to JR for providing us with images of this wonderful backyard wedding. Congratulations Kelsey and Chris and thank you both for sharing the story about your lovely day.
