Soft Spring Anniversary Session

Happy Hump Day, dear friends! I’m excited to share with you this adorable anniversary shoot fit perfectly for the season. There’s a lot to love about the early spring season. The melted snows, the warmer and longer days, and the bare trees ready to bud - it all makes us look forward to the warmth spring provides. This anniversary shoot from Deidre Lynn is shot during this season and gives us lovely soft and muted colors, and a natural and rustic take on the season with these two gorgeous love birds.

From the photographer…The soft muted colors of the very first dawning of spring were the inspiration behind this shoot. Golds and bare branches still rule the landscape and provide a stunning soft neutral backdrop for this sweet married couple. The recently melted snows had the normally small creek up to flowing river magnitude and the trees without leaf showed off their beautiful architecture. The dichotomy of both a soft peach gown and a black gown seemed perfect for the feel of this “in-between” season.

Glamorous Summer Russian Wedding

P h o t o s b y L e n a K o z h i n a

I hope everyone had a fabulous and relaxing weekend! I’m so excited to share with you this stunning real wedding from Lena Kozhina. This is one of those weddings where you want to pin every image - the styling, the florals, and the venue are fantastic. Plus, this bride’s hair is absolute perfection, and, there’s a wedding video at the end of the post to see all the beauty in action.

From the bride…Having seen Nemchinovka, I realized that I want to carry out this gala day only there!

This place is just fabulous; the wonderful area of the old castle and path in a shadow of trees and bushes reminded us of an old European town. The Park-Hotel offers its clients for registration and banquet the outdoor performance stage called “Colosseum” and three banquet halls, designed for different numbers of guests. The Colosseum is surrounded by the moat with goldfishes, beating fountains, which are very beautifully illuminated in the evening. In general, the real fairy tale for the Princess…

…We chose the curly green plants for decoration of the arch and same composition for pass dressing, the aroma was given by white sweet peas. The path was accentuated by candles in flasks, golden petals and confetti to create more romantic atmosphere. Also, we decided to use golden confetti instead of rose petals, with which guests sprinkled us after the registration.

Vermont Summer Wedding at Riverside Farm

P h o t o s b y J e n n y M o l o n e y

I am so thrilled to share with you today this gorgeous summer wedding in my lovely home state of Vermont! A quick snippet about the state for those of you who have never been (or have never heard of) this little gem state: Vermont is the second least populous state in the U.S. This equates to gorgeous scenery, green mountains, farms, and tons of nature, and in turn, is a perfect place for a wedding. Riverside Farm is one of my favorite wedding venues and Jenny Moloney captures this wedding just perfectly!

From the bride…With our venue locked, we started getting into the details. I wanted our wedding to be reflective of us, filled with personal touches, and tightly knit with friends and family. I loved that we picked our menu, our band, and our flowers together; wrote every place card; and even designed our wedding invitations. The whole weekend was us personified!

For our accents and colors, we were as neutral as possible. When you have a backdrop as beautiful as the rolling mountains of Vermont, you don’t want to distract anyone with anything grandiose. Pale pinks, ivories, greys, and pops of some bright colors were trickled into all of our details. My bridesmaids wore any shade of grey and ivory that they preferred. They all looked beautiful, and paired so nicely! The groomsmen wore navy and max work a lighter blue hue. Our flowers for the reception and ceremony were a mix of soft pinks, ivory, silvery greys, and were accented with either birch branches, or vases. The birch was elegant, yet matched the campy nature of the venue.

Hawaiian Coastal Anniversary

P h o t o s b y K y l i e M a r t i n

Happy Friday, friends! We’ve had some lovely beach wedding inspiration on the blog recently, and I’m ending the week with another amazing seaside feature. This time, the talented Kylie Martin brings us an anniversary shoot (stylist Kylie Swanson and her hubs!) on the coast of Hawaii during sunrise. Typically, sunsets get most of the admiration, but there is something so special about a sunrise. There aren’t many better ways to start a day (if you have to get up that early), especially if it’s walking on the beach with your one true love.

From the photographer…Sunrise across the rocky shores of Hawaii are always breath taking. The warmth of the early sun reflects off of the salty waves creating a golden haze that fills the air. The perfect scenery for an intimate anniversary session. John and Kylie embraced one another and strolled along the water’s edge as they quietly whispered to each other. Their love so apparent and natural. By allowing themselves to be fully immersed in the moment we were able to create timeless, authentic images. Simple yet full of emotion.

Beach Wedding in Tulum

P h o t o s b y N a d i a H u n g

Hi all! We’re continuing the week with the beach theme with today’s real wedding in Tulum! I’m a huge fan of Nadia Hung’s work, so I’m excited to showcase this wedding she shot of this gorgeous couple. This wedding is so full of love and is such a wonderful representation of what a wedding is all about! And, of course, the gorgeous scenery and Sarah’s gown(s) give us even more to swoon over.

From the bride…Choosing to get married in Tulum was an easy decision, I spent my holidays there growing up and vacationed with Ryan one summer. When you get married in another country, it’s hard to have control over all the details and I had a vision of what I wanted our day to look like so I brought a suitcase of some pieces that I had collected in the year leading up to the wedding. The vintage Moroccan Wedding Blanket (Handira) was draped over our signing table, and then used in our photographs. It’s now hanging on the wall in our bedroom. I love history and when I read about the tradition of the Handira, and how the brides family would make it in anticipation of the wedding, I knew it was something special. We kept the decor neutral so the beauty of the ocean, sky, and tropical plants would shine through.

Having our son be part of the ceremony was incredible, we let him do his own thing, but looking over and seeing him playing with the palms in the breeze was one of those moments you always want to remember. We are so grateful for the family and friends who made the trip down south, it was such a sweet gift! If I had to describe the vibe of our wedding, it would be very personal and simple. My sister is a singer and sang one of her originals for our first dance, both my dad and step dad walked me down the aisle, and the seating was open for the ceremony.

Nadia photographed my pregnancy and our engagement so having her with us in Tulum to shoot our wedding was so special. We’ve grown to love her as not only a photographer but also as a friend. She is the only photographer I know who can capture a moment completely, the emotion, the movement, it’s all there in a single photograph.
