Mystic Irish Coast Styled Shoot

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! Though I have no Irish blood in me, I spent several months in Ireland not long ago and was captivated by the country’s natural beauty. In celebration of Ireland’s national holiday, I’m thrilled to share with you this stunning shoot styled by Grace & Saviour shot by Irish photographer Paula O’Hara.

“Smell the sea and feel the sky

Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic…

…And I want to rock your gypsy soul”

-Van Morrison

From Grace & Saviour…We wanted to create a shoot that stripped the song bare, that looked at the feeling of longing, and of the wild, great elements of the sea and the sky. The shoot was dreamed up to allow our team to play with the wild, Irish gypsy spirit, passionate and romantic, on the rugged and unpredictable Donegal coastline. Nothing was set in stone, dresses, hair styles, floral design, were all selected to work with the elements, rather than independent of them. We let ourselves to, be a little free and gypsy like, so that on the day we could enjoy the drifting sands and whipping winds, forage for beach grasses and rock flowers and let Paula and her camera.

Shades Of Ruby Seaside Wedding Inspiration

Do you guys remember the lovely statement headpiece wedding inspiration from Christie Graham on the blog not too long ago? Well, today I’m sharing a gorgeous styled shoot from one of Christie’s one-on-one workshops. This workshop was inspired by a ruby engagement ring and was styled with a navy suit paired with a maroon tie for the groom, while the bride wore a lovely Truvelle gown.

About Christie’s workshops…Christie’s one-on-one workshops are a three part experience, designed to fit the needs of the photographer. Part one is a classroom session with an emphasis on business, branding, portfolio review, post-production and the process of creating fine art portraiture. Part two is a styled wedding shoot featuring top industry professionals. Students are encouraged to watch Christie direct her clients, and borrow from her styling and direction. She works with students to refine their shooting style, with the intention of making clients feel comfortable and confident to produce natural, fine art photographs. Part three focuses on post production, and establishing a positive relationship with your film lab. This is a great educational opportunity for photographers looking to hone their craft, learn more about natural light photography, and gain valuable portfolio imagery.

Bavarian DIY Barn Wedding

P h o t o s b y A s h l e y L u d a e s c h e r

Hi everyone! I’m super excited to share with you some more work from the very talented German photographer, Ashley Ludaescher. This time, we’re sharing a real wedding in Bavaria. There’s so much to love about this wedding. From the barn setting to the decor, you’ll just have to delve right in and see for yourself…

From the photographer…It was such a lovely celebration, with so many beautiful handcrafted details, and was definitely a labor of love with their family and friends coming together to help make the day amazing. The church they married in is the same church both Franzi’s parents and grandparents tied the knot in, and her mother made the gorgeous peony arch. The reception was held in the garden of Franzi’s family’s hotel, and an empty barn they transformed into a stunning reception venue. All the DIY details looked incredible and I was shocked they had done it all on their own.

Happy Friday, all. I’m ending this week’s features with a gorgeous set of images from an Erich McVey workshop. Talk about tons of uber-talented vendors, from the photography of Meghan Mehan to the styling of Ginny Au and florals from Sarah Winward. These couple portraits are breathtaking and I’m sure you’ll love them too.

From the photographer…This styled session was photographed as a part of the Erich McVey Workshop in Elk, California. Styled by Ginny Au, she designed each session by drawing inspiration from a single word. For this shoot, the word was nubivagant, meaning: moving among the clouds.

Southern Winter Wedding Inspiration

P h o t o s b y N i k k i S a n t e r r e

Though spring is almost among us, we’ve still got a bit more left of this winter. I recently took a trip down to Virginia where the weather was a bit warmer but a snow blanket still covered the ground. With that said, I’ve got some southern winter wedding inspiration to share with you, all shot by Virginia based photographer, Nikki Santerre.

From the photographer…This project was a special one to collaborate on and I’m so excited to share it on behalf of one of my oldest and dearest friends. Amanda and I grew up in church together and she recently began her adventure in small business ownership specializing in wedding coordination. This shoot was inspired by winter in the south and has some really fun elements. A huge thank you to the girls that modeled and to my friends Katherine for contributing the beautiful wedding gown and to Erica for the florals!
