“Day after” wedding sessions aren’t something done often in the industry, but they’re a special way for the couple to get ideal wedding portraits. With all the adrenaline and busyness going on during a wedding day, sometimes the moments escape for the couple to just be themselves. Once you view today’s black-tie day “day after” session in Texas captured by Sophie Epton, you’ll either be considering this option or wishing you had. The love between these two is adorable and the details equally so.
From the photographer…I absolutely love “after wedding” sessions…while everyone plans for the perfect day, sometimes there are unexpected circumstances such as rainy weather or tight timelines that can leave a bride and groom wanting additional photos of themselves, and these “day after” or “after wedding” sessions are such a fantastic way to accomplish this. The bride and groom have a very relaxed and carefree attitude, and it gives everyone a chance to let their hair down and shoot even more beautiful wedding photos in the best light.
Caught up in the trees and the shimmering sunlight in the Texas hill country, Jessy and Weston made pure magic; I couldn’t have been more thrilled to capture all the loving looks, exuberance and excitement that they felt at finally being husband and wife…even if it was after the wedding! Since they both live in the hill country, we chose the gorgeous Fall Creek Vineyards in Driftwood, Texas as a backdrop that fit their personalities so well. We photographed this beautiful couple amongst curving trees and golden grasses, stone arches covered with emerald vines and flower wrapped walkways. I loved all the details of the venue and thought they added so much to this part of the couple’s story. Jessy and Weston recreated their wedding day attire complete with a bouquet and a floral crown (who doesn’t love a groom that rocks a white jacket!) and we had the best time laughing, making new memories, and creating even more photos that they can cherish for years to come.
