Being an American married to a Belgian makes me a bit biased when I hear international love stories. But today’s intimate real wedding in Mexico at a gorgeous estate captured by Brumley & Wells is just one that I think most will swoon over. Dany, who’s Canadian, lived in Switzerland for most of his life, and French-born Sarah, who grew up traveling, decided to marry in Sarah’s family home in Mexico. Talk about a gorgeous, eclectic wedding with the most beautiful details. The venue, the bridal attire, and the gloriously sunny day all make for dream-worthy wedding inspiration and personally makes my wanderlust soar.
From the bride…We invited our closest friends to Mexico, and did a 3 day party between Merida and the Hacienda Humpicdziu [family home]. We were around 60 people, and had booked gorgeous hotels in Merida: the Hotel Hacienda Merida and the Hotel Hacienda VIP. Our families were staying in a new luxury hacienda called Ticum, which is absolutely unique. On the first day, we did a cocktail at the VIP hotel. On the second day, we did a day trip in the ruins of Uxmal followed by a dinner in a nice restaurant. And on the third day was the wedding. The wedding was entirely organized by my mother, Dominique. She did the entire planning, decoration and organization of this day. And she did an AMAZING job. It was full of surprises: mariachis, Mayan ceremony, Yucatecan dancers… It was perfect.
