Romantic Riverside Boudoir Portraits

P h o t o s by J o P h o t o

I’m admittedly particular when it comes to boudoir sessions, but when it’s done in an artful, tasteful way such as today’s romantic riverside boudoir session by JoPhoto, I’m always happy to share. Of course, it’s always a plus for me when I see styled shoots that are nature-infused and the Great Smoky Mountains provide a fresh and organic backdrop for these elegant portraits. And when you add a river into the mix, especially when the bride actually dives in, you get something that’s all kinds of ethereal.

From the photographer…We’re excited to share these river bridal boudoir photos with you today! Our idea of boudoir is emphasizing natural beauty with organic details in a conservative and artistic way. So, we went to the Great Smoky Mountains for this boudoir session on a hot July evening as the sun was setting, and you could smell the smoke drifting from campfires around the bend in Elkmont. For this river boudoir shoot, we wanted to highlight the romantic and intimate feel of the woods, river, and mountains while bringing out the natural elegance and delicacy of the bride. The details we loved the most were the way the robe draped across her shoulders and flowed in the water, and the sun setting over the river and illuminating her hair and veil by Kelly Spence.
