Tamara Gigola Workshop in Kazbegi, Georgia

I came across Tamara Gigola’s work about six months ago and have been an admirer ever since. She is inspiring with both her timeless film photography work but also with her unique story about how she got to where she is now. I recently asked Tamara her story of how she got into the film photography world. She told me how she was a chief financial officer with no real desire to photograph, but she knew there was something special about the work of Jose Villa. She attended one of his workshops with no experience, and since then, has become a very successful film photographer with some pretty impressive publications. As she has been impressed by the works of Jose Villa, I have been consistently inspired by her and her work. I am thrilled to share with you images by another talent, Olga Siyanko, from Tamara’s last workshop in Kazbegi, Georgia. I’m also excited to say that I have the honor of attending her next workshop in Kakheti, which takes place next week (my flight out there is today!).

Exotic Desert Wedding Inspiration

I love when I receive a set of images that are so magnificently unique and inspirational. These images from Russian photographer Anastasia Bryukhnova truly go beyond ordinary. They are exquisite, exotic, and mesmerizing on a whole new level, making me want to jump right into the images. This shoot is inspiring with its gorgeous detail, from the stunning beaded gown, the bold hair and make-up, to the surreal desert scenery with a dromedary, but also inspires me to see the world. Two things that I love deeply are fine art weddings and travel, and this shoot mixes the two together and for me, creates something magical and unforgettable.

A couple of days ago, I featured the Organic Element Wedding Inspiration photos from Wendy Cooper’s time at the most recent Erich McVey workshop. Today I’m sharing another styled shoot from the same workshop with a focus on texture and pattern with a color palette of dusty pinks. The Emily Riggs gown is a total showstopper, as are the portraits. And the tablescape is one that I personally think pinnners will go crazy for.

So here’s a roundup of my personal favorite fine art photographs featuring the “something blue”.

Now, I can’t say the idea of a blue cake really appeals to me, but how gorgeous is this one from The Cake Stand? And your “something blue” can be a smaller detail and still be effective - like these gorgeous bouquet ribbons or a pair of shoes. Did you have a “something blue” in your wedding? Let me know if you did and what your favorite blue images are! Continue Reading
