Fine Art Wedding Inspiration #5: Something Blue

This latest inspiration board is dedicated to the “something blue” wedding tradition. Whether you’re a fan of the poem’s ritual or not, blue is a fabulous wedding color regardless. It is so versatile and can really be used during any season - which is personally why I’m a fan of the hue. So here’s a roundup of my personal favorite fine art photographs featuring the “something blue”.

Now, I can’t say the idea of a blue cake really appeals to me, but how gorgeous is this one from The Cake Stand? And your “something blue” can be a smaller detail and still be effective - like these gorgeous bouquet ribbons or a pair of shoes. Did you have a “something blue” in your wedding? Let me know if you did and what your favorite blue images are! Continue Reading

Fine Art Wedding Inspiration #4: Vibrant Pops of Color

Here is an inspiration board for all you color lovers out there! I have much admiration for those people who really commit to vibrant color palettes. They make such a statement and they’re also super fun and perfect for summer, which is just around the corner. This particular inspiration board doesn’t focus on one particular bright and bold color, but mixes brights together as not to be too exhausting.

Of course, florals certainly come to mind when you think of how to use a bright and vibrant color palette, and I adore these particular floral arrangements. However, you can find other fun and unique ways to add that color pop to a wedding. There’s definitely been a trend in colorful shoes, and you can also use color in bridesmaids’ dresses, other attire (how cute are those hats!), or even a bold pink lip. Food and paper goods are also fun ways incorporate your bright color scheme. Continue Reading

Fine Art Wedding Inspiration #3: Subtle Lavender Details

I’m sure many of you have seen numerous lavender weddings and trends around the virtual wedding world. I love shades of purple, but personally, I prefer them in doses. I’d describe my wedding aesthetic preferences to be pretty organic and neutral - so here’s my twist on lavender wedding inspiration - smaller doses, paired with lots of greenery!

Like I said, I love this color paired with greens and other neutral tones. You don’t need a ton of this beautiful shade to make a gorgeous statement. My particular favorites are the use of real lavender in details like hair, table settings, and cake. And the dustier shade in that ruffled dress is so perfect! Continue Reading

Fine Art Wedding Inspiration #2: Earthy Details

This particular board is one I’m a bit in love with. Earthy, natural wedding details will never go out of style. I particularly love them when they’re used in a venue that’s full of naturally gorgeous scenery. I must say, Ginny Au is one of my biggest inspirations and she really represents the natural and organic aesthetic of weddings so beautifully. So here are some of my all time favorite images that represent an ‘earthy’ wedding feel.

There are lots of ways to incorporate an ‘earthy’ look to your wedding. Wooden tables and chairs do a wonderful job at setting the structure for an earthy reception. Pair them with bits of greenery and you have a simple, but beautiful look. Texture in hair and florals give things an organic feel and they look great with free-flowing attire. A naked wedding cake doesn’t get more earthy, especially with more greens, and DIY touches like hand-dyed napkins using natural plant dyes also bring some of the earthy elements into the making of things. Fine Art Wedding Inspiration #1: Spring Pastel

There’s just something that ties in springtime with pastel colors so nicely - they’re so delicate and feminine. I particularly love them paired with neutral colors, giving things a bit of a pop. Here’s a few of my favorite pastel wedding details compiled into my first inspiration board!

So those Emily Riggs bridal gowns? Yeah, I’m completely in love. The lace top paired with the colored silk tulle skirting is perfection and something any bride should seriously consider, especially the pastel lovers out there. I love the simplicity of the two white cakes that really showcase those stunningly crafted pastel cake florals. As for flowers, the options are just endless when it comes to pastels - there are so many beautiful color combinations, which all create a soft, romantic aesthetic. And don’t forget the little pastel details - like this muted aqua Mrs. Box and the pastel pink specialty drinks!
