There are so many wedding trends I love - details with a boho twist, maybe something a little rustic since I grew up in he countryside - but I truly think there is something so special and important about timeless styling. Today’s elegant Atlanta wedding inspiration, captured by Archetype takes place at the Swan House, a venue that is breathtaking with its style, architecture, and history. The Gossamer gown and table details like lace-emrodered linens and other antique trinkets are just a few examples of how vintage will never go out of style.

“She always had that about her, that look of otherness, of eyes that see things much too far, and of thoughts that wander off the edge of the world.”

-Joanne Harris

From the photographer…We appreciate the history and story of the Inman Family’s Swan House just as much as its beauty. I loved walking through the house after the shoot! Swan House, traditionally known as one of the most recognized and photographed landmarks in Atlanta, is an elegant, classically styled mansion built in 1928 for the Edward H. Inman family, heirs to a cotton brokerage fortune. The mansion, designed by famed Atlanta architect Philip Trammell Shutze, provides a glimpse into the lifestyle of this Atlanta family during the 1920s and 1930s.

Today, the Swan House is still the setting for beautiful weddings and celebrations. May is one of the loveliest months as the roses are usually in bloom and the lawn is green – providing the perfect backdrop for your outdoor event. If I could get married again and again (to the same person of course), Swan House would certainly be on the top of my wedding venue list. We would host our ceremony on the picturesque back lawn of the Swan House, followed by a cocktail hour in the boxwood garden and then return to the lawn for a reception under the stars. Line the long stairs with lanterns and drip the lawn with cafe lights for a romantic reception that won’t soon be forgotten.
