Minimal Beach Wedding Inspiration

Today’s minimal beach wedding inspiration by Kyle John brings things back to nature and its natural beauty. This isn’t a toes-in-the-sand, seashells and cocktails kind of beach shoot, but one taken on a rocky seashore with the ocean backdrop on one side, and immense black rocks on the other. Kelly Lenard brings us beautiful florals with pops of pastels, bringing forth color amid the neutral palette of the earthly surroundings.

Peach and Mint Wedding in Texas

Today we’re headed south with the first real wedding feature of 2016. We’re headed to Wimberly, Texas, to be exact, with this intimate peach and mint wedding captured by film photographer Michelle Boyd. I dream about having a second ‘wedding’ (my husband’s from Belgium and we’re still hoping to have our European celebration in the future) completely open-air with a reception under trees and blue skies. Seeing a perfectly sweet, intimate wedding like this one with its gorgeous florals, beautiful bride, and lush outdoor backdrop reminds me of why I love outdoor events so much.

I’ve featured Colorado-based photographer, Tamara Gruner’s work before and what I love about her shoots is how rich they are in their wedding details. She and her team of vendors seem to go above and beyond with decor ideas and today’s intimate Texas wedding inspiration with rose florals gives us so much pin-worthy imagery, I just don’t know where to start. Lush florals, calligraphy, ceremony, cocktail and reception decor, and a gorgeous gown, this shoot simply has it all.

Intimate Black Tie Wedding Inspiration

How do you guys feel about small, intimate weddings? I’ve always liked the idea and find that there’s something particularly special about them. I love elopements too, but I really love when a wedding is still just as intimate but includes only those few, very important loved ones. I also recently saw the episode of How I Met Your Mother where a beautiful ceremony was held for Lilly and Marshall. So with an intimate occasion, topped with tons of beauty like fresh florals, an Anna Campbell gown, and Silk & Willow in the mix, there’s lots to love in this wedding from Aussie photographer, Katie Grant.

Majestic African Bush Wedding

I have something truly special to show you today - a wedding that is certainly one for the books, and one that I hope will be seen by the masses because it is truly spectacular. Sarah Marie photographed a very intimate, African bush wedding. The bride’s aisle consisted of elephants, while numerous other African animals were present for this couple’s surreal and beautiful day.

From the bride…As we wound through the African bush, I closed my eyes and felt my soul awaken as I inhaled the crisp air into my lungs. The wind tugged at my curls and my skin tingled from the chill in the air… I could feel the spirit of the land running through my veins. The lull of the engine slowed as we approached the ceremony site, and my heart began to beat faster. In the distance, I could see my strapping groom in his tall leather boots and suspenders, waiting patiently. Jabulani and each of the other elephants saluted me with their trunks aimed toward the heavens as I grew closer to the lantern-lit aisle. I slowed, my body imploring that I take in each second. Jabulani, the gentle giant, and I locked eyes, and I resisted the urge to praise him for his patience. In the distance, I could hear the scoffs of disapproval from the baby elephants who were being shied away from their posing mothers. I felt as though I was soaking up the soul of Africa through my bare feet as I drifted over the rose petal covered bush floor. As I reached my groom, I exhaled euphorically and listened as the Ghost Birds gave their blessing. We became bonded through Christ as Mother Nature surrounded us and cloaked us in her beauty. Our souls will forever be willfully bound to this soil, and our hearts will ache to be in the presence of this ethereal land until we return once more.
